Weathering the elements of nature and the march of time, a handful of Clayhouses, more often referred to as Adobes, continue to stand today as relics of Paso Robles' pioneering past. This wine is an ode to our Clayhouse which you'll find nestled in a canyon up a winding dirt road, where oak trees proudly stand guard and rows of wine grapes trellis up the hillsides. This house was once a home, an occasional hideout for outlaws and a gathering place when neighbors were few and far between. Clayhouse wines are not only an affirmation of those who sowed the land before us, but also a testament to nature and the generosity that it provides. From our house to your home.
Tasting Note:
Deep purple in color. Aromas of dark Bing cherries, black currants and hints of cedar and sweet vanilla. The wine is rich, full-bodied and has a sweet black cherry and ripe plum fruit flavors with licorice undertones. The Cabernet has chewy but rounded and smooth tannins and finishes with warm, toasty notes.
