Gerard Bertrand: Corbieres Grenache Syrah

Corbieres Grenache Syrah
- Varieties: Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah
- Type: Red
- Region: Corbières, Languedoc, France
- Alcohol Level: 14.5%
Wine Description:
It was in 806 that the first traces of the Château de Peyrepertuse were found, a héritage of the Cathars who built the citadels of vertigo, still dominating the vineyard. The Corbières offer an extraordinary geological diversity of schist, limestone and rounded pebbles.
Tasting Note:
The colour is a deep, dense ruby. The nose reveals powerful aromas of mocha and coffee. The palate, balanced and harmonious, offers a very beautiful roundness on the attack, aromas of ripe fruits and great amplitude. This wine has substance, texture, a soft and almost neverending finish.
