Famille Bouey: Chateau La Ribaud Medoc Cru Bourgeois

Chateau La Ribaud Medoc Cru Bourgeois
- Varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec
- Type: Red
- Region: Medoc, Bordeaux, France
- Alcohol Level: 14.0%
Wine Description:
Château la Ribaud has been the family’s most-improved estate over the past few years. The soil structure is interesting here: the surface layer is mostly clay, which sits atop deeper strata of chalky soil and limestone. This can be harnessed to produce powerful yet restrained wines, whose tannins soften delicately over time.
Tasting Note:
Coming from clay soils, Château La Ribaud is a solid, that has medium-bodied notes of cassis, currants, tobacco, and earth. Medium-bodied, with moderate tannins, and a charming, nicely balanced style.
